Lance Preston and the crew of "Grave Encounters", a phantom-hunting reality television show, are shooting one episode inside the abandoned Collingwood Psychiatric Hospital, at what place unexplained phenomena has been reported on account of years. All in the name of virtue television, they voluntarily lock themselves inner part the building for the night and institute a paranormal investigation, capturing everything steady camera. They quickly realize that the construction is more than just haunted - it is not dead - and it has no intention of at all times letting them leave. They find themselves distracted in a labyrinth maze of interminable hallways and corridors, terrorized by the ghosts of the framer patients. They soon begin to trial their own sanity, slipping deeper and deeper into the depths of delirium, ultimately discovering the truth behind the hospital's abstruse past...and taping what turns aloud to be their final episode.
